Go-Man Productions and the Wet Mountain Valley Saddle Club invite you to bring your family to the Westcliffe Ranch Rodeo this Saturday night at the Westcliffe Rodeo Grounds. The fun starts with the Rodeo Calcutta at 5:30 followed by the Ranch Rodeo at 6 and a then a dance! The Ranch Rodeo events include Wild Cow Milking, Doctoring, Tag Roping, Trailer Loading and Bronc Riding. The Family Ranch Chores is a hilarious time event where teams of 3 must carry a baby while performing various chores. Rodeo admission is $5 per person, kids 10 and under free. The 19th Annual Salida Pregnancy Center Walk For Life called "Life Rocks" is this Saturday starting and ending at Riverside Park. Registration is at 9:30, walk begins at 10:30. Free t-shirt and lunch for participants...live music 11:30-1:30 by Saddle Strings of Howard and a performance and face painting by the Salida Circus. The walk is 1.5 miles. Prizes for those raising the most pledges in several categories. Pick up your pledge forms at Salida Pregnancy Center, the Mountain Mail or Country Bounty. For more information: 539-7436.

A free, public Genealogy Workshop is 1-4 this Saturday at the Salida Public Library. If you're interested in genealogy and/or want help looking into your family tree, you're encouraged to attend. Bring any documents such as birth, death, or marriage certificates you may have for you or your ancestors. This is a hands-on workshop. You will find various methods for searching your genealogy. The workshop is sponsored by the Chipeta Chapter, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution, a non-profit, non-political worldwide service organization dedicated to genealogy, promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism through community service.) In Concert will participate in the Art Hullabaloo in Westcliffe this Saturday with performances by the In Concert Trio at 11:45 and 2:45 in front of the Jones Theater. The trio made up of Virginia Powers, Bob Powers, and Dan Epperson will play a short set of trios performed on cello, bassoon and trombone. Stop by the Jones Theater on Saturday to hear this unusual ensemble and learn more about In Concert’s 2009-2010 season.

The Howard Volunteer Fire Department on Hwy. 50 in Howard is holding a fundraiser dinner this Saturday night 4:30-6:30 with a lasagna dinner. Adults $8, kids under 12 $5. The night also includes a raffle drawing for $6,000 cash! Raffle tickets are $10. Drawing at 6:30. You need not be present to win. Winner is responsible for all taxes at time of conveyance.
